A redesign costs what its scope costs: how many page types change, what content can be reused, what has to move and what it connects to. At 5DAYS websites start from €3,950, from €5,950 with cases and articles, and from €7,950 for advanced work, excluding VAT.
What drives the cost of a website redesign?
The size of the change drives the cost, and that's different from the size of the site. A large site with one strong template can be simpler than a small one in which each page differs. These are the things that move a quote:
| Cost driver | Cheaper when | More expensive when |
|---|---|---|
| Page types | A few templates cover most pages | Many pages need their own design |
| Content | Your text and images can be reused or are ready | It has to be rewritten, translated or reshot |
| Brand | Your identity is settled | The brand changes at the same time |
| Structure | Pages and URLs stay as they are | Pages merge, move or disappear |
| Integrations | Forms and simple tools | CRM, booking, client portal |
| Technology | The current platform stays | A new CMS and a content migration |
| Decisions | One person decides, in consolidated rounds | Many opinions, in open-ended rounds |
How is a redesign different from a new website?
A redesign has a past, and that past brings extra work and extra value. Extra work, because old content has to be sorted and old URLs have to go somewhere. Extra value, because you know which pages bring in business and what visitors ask. Use that. A redesign that throws out what worked is more expensive than its invoice suggests.
Sometimes you don't need to replace everything. Read redesign or rebuild to find out which job you actually have.
What does a website redesign cost at 5DAYS?
We don't have a separate redesign price. Our website packages are the reference point, and the quote follows the scope. All prices exclude VAT.
| Package | From | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | €3,950 | A strong first impression: up to around 10 pages |
| Complete | €5,950 | Your full story: up to around 30 pages, cases and articles |
| Signature | €7,950 | High creative standards: advanced motion and custom functionality |
Web applications and client portals are quoted separately. For a comparison with the build price of a new site, see how much a website costs.
Which costs do people forget in a redesign?
- Redirects. Google's site move guidance recommends permanent redirects from each old URL to its new URL when URLs change, and keeping them generally at least a year. Someone has to map them, so ask who does it.
- Content clean-up. Deciding what to keep, merge or delete is real work, and it usually lands on your team.
- Images. A new design can expose old photos. New photography is rarely part of a build price.
- Licences and hosting. Ongoing costs may change with a new platform.
- Care after launch. See website maintenance costs.
How do you keep the cost under control?
- Write down why. "It looks old" and "it doesn't bring in leads" lead to very different projects. A good design brief makes that clear.
- Delete before you design. Every page you drop is a page nobody has to redesign or migrate.
- Check your data first. Export your existing URLs and see which pages actually get visits.
- Prepare the content early. Late text is a common reason for delays.
- Consolidate feedback. Collect it internally and send one version.
A warning sign in any quote is silence on what happens to your old pages. Use our redesign checklist so that you can ask about it.
