How do you become a brand AI can recommend?

AI visibility isn't a switch you turn on. It's the result of a clear story, accessible information and reasons to trust what people find.

AI is changing how people discover businesses, but it hasn't removed the basic question behind search: Who should I trust with this? If a business is hard to understand, has contradictory information online or lacks independent recognition, an AI assistant has little to work with.

Start with a clear identity

Before thinking about structured data, get the fundamentals right. What do you do? For whom? What makes your approach different? An answer that takes three paragraphs on your own homepage will not become clearer just because an assistant reads it.

Give your most important services or products specific, useful pages. Explain the problem, what you offer and the next step. Write for the person making a decision, not for a supposed secret AI ranking formula.

Make the information accessible

Search tools may retrieve pages differently. Clear headings, crawlable text, useful metadata, canonical URLs and understandable page structure all help discovery. Structured data can provide additional context, but it cannot rescue vague messaging or make an unsupported claim true.

Check whether your key messages live in real text rather than exclusively inside artwork or interactions. A beautiful website should still say something a machine can read.

Give people a reason to believe you

An identity needs more than a logo. Real projects, named people, relevant expertise and credible mentions elsewhere make a business easier to assess. Be precise and honest about your work. A self-initiated concept is not a customer testimonial.

What not to chase

Avoid schemes promising guaranteed AI recommendations, piles of near-identical articles and endless repetition of the same keywords. There is no universal way to purchase inclusion in every assistant's answer.

A useful place to start

Review your homepage, the three most important service pages and the places your business appears elsewhere. Make the facts consistent, improve clarity and publish evidence you can stand behind. Then monitor what real discovery journeys look like over time.
